Now I've benefited a lot from lectures and many other academic reports. Learning is a long process; I'll keep exploring in the treasure house of knowledge to enrich myself. This summer I got out of the ivory tower and entered the real world. A publishing house offered me a part-time job in compilation and revision. At the beginning I was belittled by my colleagues. But they were really surprised when I translated seven English articles over 5,000 words on only one day. Gradually, they began to look at me with respectful eyes. In their opinion I turned out to be a useful and trustworthy colleague. I also realize that only those who bring happiness for others can be truly happy. So I often take part in activities concerning public welfare. I once went to a barren mountain village with my classmates. We taught the kids there who could not afford school. While showing them how broad and how civilized the outer world is, I was deeply touched by their eagerness to learn, their honesty and their purity. I couldn't control my tears on the day when we left. The precious experience with the poor kids made me aware of the responsibility on the shoulders of us, future teachers. Besides study and social practice, there are entertainments as well. I do body building every day, hoping to keep healthy and energetic. We also write a play and put it on in our spare time. Campus life is the most splendid time. But different people have different choices. The majority of students cherish their beautiful season and cherish the hope that one day they'll become outstanding. But there are indeed some students still under ignorance. They gather together for eating, drinking or playing cards. They're busy in searching for a girlfriend or a boyfriend. 对于绝大多数同学来说，英语始终是心头大患。我与大家经历相同，从4年级便被扣上了这顶帽子，每一次考试，英语总是给我拖后腿，但在一次次摸索中，我也在不断进步，总结了一些经验。正所谓“方向不对，努力白费”，正确的学习方法会使我们的学习效率大大提高，从而达到事半功倍的目的。下面是我总结的一些学习英语的经验，希望可以供同学们参考。
第一，做好课堂笔记。顾名思义，课堂笔记便是利用课堂时间将老师所讲的重点、难点、疑点记下，千万不可以“手懒”，对于知识零碎的英语来说更是如此，好记性不如烂笔头。然后是回顾笔记，回顾笔记才是做笔记的重点，建议大家，周末时专门抽出时间回顾一下当周所做的笔记，这样能有效地缓解紧张的心理，可以让你在下一周的学习中得心应手。举个我自己的例子吧，记得有一次英语抽测，我抱着侥幸的心理，没有做好复习工作，所以考试前就开始临时抱佛脚，结果到了最后，根本没有时间复习完，考试时慌慌张张，考得一塌糊涂。所以说，做好笔记对于学生来说十分重要。
第二，整理回顾错题，对于很多同学来说，都能做到整理错题，但重点是我们不仅仅要整理，更要回顾与反思。所谓“好马不吃回头草”对我们学生万万不可适用，要想成功挤过中考这座独木桥，就必须回顾自己的错题，也防止再出现类似的失误。再举个例子吧，我开始和很多同学一样只是纠一下错，之后就不管了，但是有一次考试，我真记得做过某一题，就是忘了怎么做，结果不仅没做出题，心情也糟糕透顶，考试结果可想而知惨不忍睹，后来我学着经常回顾错题本，慢慢地积累，厚积薄发，考试也不再出现类似的失误。
第三，要利用零碎的时间。英语是一门需要长期积累的科目，知识点很多，一定要好好利用互联网、学习机和其他移动方便的设备，更不用说书籍和杂志这样的.传统学习资源！你完全可以在课间、排队、午休等时间记几个单词，要养成“天天英语”的习惯，每天按老师的要求作一篇完形阅读，坚持天天听英语。其实学英语的过程更像是一朵云的形成，是水汽的一点点积累；而不像砌一面墙那样，把砖堆上去就好。

When you're leaving the hotel will you look into a mirror and adjust your clothes in front of it. But if it were a black mirror what could we get? With technology developing at a rocket speed, the black mirror is everywhere, on the screens of our cellphones, our computers and our televisions. In our daily life, we are always facing black mirrors. However, we can hardly see ourselves in it. Perhaps sometimes we can, but only as a colourless face. Technology has brought great convenience of communication for information but at the same time, it has webbed our thought.
Several years ago, an article named “Is Google making us stupid” got quite popular on the Internet. At that time, I thought it was just alarmism but now I find it much worse because technology is not just making us stupid but also weakening our independent thought. About half year ago, I was invited to judge a debate competition. When I arrived at the competition room, I noticed it was an old and classic topic, so I was expecting those players to give me some new and special ideas. Unfortunately, when the game continued, I found all the viewpoints and examples they used were totally the same as the previous competition. The only fun during the competition was to predict what they would say. As far as I was concerned, they were not making a debate but replaying a video. Obviously, they just spoke for the black mirror.
Debate was born as an area that we use our own thought to defend our opinion. However due to high technology, all these "My opinion is" in the competition are actually "The opinion I have found is". That is , really, a tragedy because all human dignity lies in thought which has been weakened by convenient technology.
Truth to be told, debate is not the only example. In every field, we can get whatever information or opinions we want from the almighty black mirror. As a consequence, how to restructure human thought has become not only important but also necessary in today's technologically advanced world. And the answer is humanism which stands for human independent special mind. Just as humanism freed people's thought from the force of religion in the Renaissance, I'm waiting in the hope that it can rescue the ideology trapped in high technology. Humanism is a Lodestar guiding us to the era that anyone can form their own opinion about anything but not just speak the words from the Internet.
Ladies and gentlemen, I'm not an anti-technologist but I do care about those disadvantages that technology brings to our present life. With the laundry machine, we don't know how to hand wash clothes clean. With electronic address books, we can even hardly remember our girlfriends or boyfriends' phone numbers. And now with a convenient way to get opinion, we seldom think with our own mind. If so, human is only a reed, the feeblest thing in nature. So follow the spirit of humanism, have an independent mind, so that we can be colorful in those black mirrors.

I would like to share with you a true story about Nicholas James Vujicic. He was born with Tetra-amelia, a rare disorder characterized by the absence of all four limbs. He struggled as a child, eventually came to terms with his disability and started his own non-profit organization Life Without Limbs – at age seventeen. He is widely known as a motivational speaker, giving talks worldwide on life with a disability, hope, and finding meaning in life.
He was bullied at school, Vujicic grew depressed and by the age of 8, contemplated suicide. At age 10, he tried to drown himself in 4 inches of water, but did not go through with it out of love for his parents. After praying to grow arms and legs, Vujicic eventually realized that his accomplishments could inspire others – and became grateful for his life. A key turning point came when his mother showed him a newspaper article about a man dealing with a severe disability. Vujicic realized he wasn't unique in his struggles and began to embrace and transcend his disability.
This man, the soldier of life, came to my hometown 2 months ago. I got to listen to him, and talk to him, face to face. I could never forget the look in his face when he said “when I was young, I always feel cold, and dark. My first dream was to grow arms and legs, but there is no future for me at all. ” And now, 28 years has passed since he was born, 28 years without arms and legs. Nick’s first dream didn't come true, but he didn't lose his faith of himself, and the faith of this life.
Nick is living a life without limbs, and also a life without limits. Compare to him, young people, there is no excuses to lose our faith in ourselves and this world. I understand that life couldn't be anything we want it to be, and life couldn't bring us everything we long for, sometimes, life even takes away our cherished ones. However, we are young; we are the hope of the whole world. Faith is right there within our reach.
Never lose faith, let us make to our life, to our future a dear promise.

What about its connection with music? Lets take a look at a straight and tight string. Pluck it, and then halve its length, then pluck it again. The sound we hear is the same note but a higher frequency. The Greek mathematician Pythagoras discovered this law and it developed into the musical scale we know today.
Another example is from the famous composer, Bach. When we listen to his music in “Well-Tempered Clavier”，we find the notes are always getting higher .But amazingly, in the end, it comes back to the initial height. Why is it? That's why Bach was great! It's a very interesting maths problem. We call it a paradox.
These days we learn maths at school. The only purpose is to get a high mark. But I personally think that those with curious and creative minds will open the door to the world of maths. Can you give me a boat?” “Use my trunk to build your boat. You can sail far away and be happy.” So the boy cut the tree trunk to make a boat. He went sailing and never showed up for a long time. The tree was happy, but it was not true.
Finally, the boy returned after he left for so many years. “Sorry, my boy. But I don't have anything for you anymore. No more apples for you…” the tree said.
"I don't have teeth to bite,” the boy replied.
"No more trunk for you to climb on.”

First, yellow is a meaningful color. The Yellow River is China's Mother River and the descendants of the Yellow Emperor. This color has a special origin and great significance for the Chinese people. Beijing is the capital of New China and previously the capital for nine dynasties in Chinese history. So, yellow will naturally add splendor to the 20xx Games.
Secondly, the 20xx Olympics will be a red pageant.Red is another traditionally cherished color for the whole country. We adore red. On big occasions, we like to decorate our homes in red. It is the color of double happiness, representing joyous moments, auspiciousness, enthusiasm and prosperity. Red is one of the most suitable colors to describe the future of Beijing . Beijing , together with the whole country, is becoming more and more prosperous in the process of modernization. Should the 20xx Olympics be held in Beijing, the whole city will be a sea of red : the red torch,red flags, red flowers, and the radiant faces of millions of joyful people.
Above all, the 20xx Olympics will be a green Olympics. Adding a green ingredient is essential in creating an appealing image, as we can't deny the fact that Beijing, at the moment, is not as green a city as what we like it to be. Striving for an environmentally appealing city has become a central task for all the citizens of Beijing. Big efforts have been made in pollution control, replanting and beautification of the city. According to a project entitled" The Green Olympic Action Plan", between 1998 and 20xx, Beijing, we have invested 100 billion RMB in preserving and protecting the environment. Some 12.5 million trees and over 1 million acres of grass will be planted along the Fourth Ring Road. By then, the city's green area will make up 40% of its total. The city will also dredge its reservoirs used as a water supply to Beijing residents, controlling industrial pollution and moving out the 200 factories presently located within the city proper.
Certainly, all of this is no easy task. But I am sure that all of us have confidence that we will realize these green goals. For now we have the full support and participation of the environmentally conscious citizens. Each citizen is showing great concern for every one of the steps the city government takes. As the saying goes, United, we stand, and a green Beijing will be achieved.
